Review Transistor Full Version:

A stylish, smart, and sexy game from start to finish. The game begins by tantalizing you with a bit of it’s story, and drags you in and doesn’t let you go, being vague but telling you what you need to know to get you thinking. Every moment of playing Transistor I was wondering where it would take me next, and I was never disappointed by what followed my anticipation. It has a very intereting take on a futuristic politics landscape, and has very well-thought out characters and developement.

The combat is fluid and tactical, while somehow having an elegance about it. It utilizes such simple mechanics, however that does’t mean it won’t push your understanding of these mechanics to the limit as the difficulty definitely does ramp up as the game proceeds. The game will follow exactly what you want, and it is all up to your skill and cunning to successfully defeat all foes that come your way. This game mixes many genres but with flawless results as you level up and collect new abilities and powers a la an RPG, while you switch into turn-based strategy, and then into a fast-paced action game. The game keeps you on your toes and always tries to throw something new at you, but never going overboard and bringing you a challenge that is impassible.

However the show-stopping point of this game, as similar to other Supergiant success, Bastion, is the art direction. The voice over by Logan Cunningham, and the tunes sung by Ashley Lynn Barrett seal the deal of the package as they drive home the emotion, setting, and character of the game without eveer seeming forced or clunky. The look of Transistor is sleek and futuristic and as you delve deeper into the story the surroundings transition perfectly. Near the conclusion of the game you return to where you had started but the setting has changed drastically, and the score has been remixed. This point really displayed the kind of talent the creators have, and how powerful an indie developer can be.

Transistor Full Version is a marvel to look at, a blast to play, and has a story dripping in charm and intrigue. If you were a fan of Bastion, it will not disappoint you, and I highly reccomend it.
