HuniePop is a good game, this is not. The characters fail to engage with the player in a direct way. They do not query, approach or otherwise engage you. Instead, you end up feeling like you’re watching things happen to you from the side. There’s a lot of text that tells you what the characters are doing, instead of the game showing it through art and animation. You are told, not shown. This makes the game a detached experience.

There’s also a lack of tension, sexual or otherwise. HuniePop, for example, offers you a fantasy – you’re an awkward guy who is coached and gets better with women. Galaxy Girls offers no such fantasy, conflict, or character developement. The “sexy” is expressed through pictures that look hot, rather than creating it in your head.

There’s something of interest in the story and the plot is generally fine, but a lack of destination as to where it’s going, creates disinterest, rather than mystery. The fantasy of being with the engineer/medic is also a missed opportunity as that isn’t much touched upon.

As a child i always wanted a game where i was a creature exploring the world and my wish has been granted! The designs of the creatures are really appealling, there are so many combinations and tribes never look the same. I found out about this game when we talked about natural selection in school and niche helped me out so much understand how this works. 20$ is totally worth it, the game gets rarely boring and when it does i just try domining the jungle islands.

You can challenge yourself, try breading the perfect creatures, create a story and many more. The dead creatures graphics/bleeding/attack animations are not to violent and it’s great because this keeps the cheerfull tone the game always has even if it’s about survival. Also babies are so cute! The art style is just perfect for this game. The strategic aspect is great and sometimes i struglle between my morals not wanting to abandon a sick creature and the fact i only have 12 food. My only negative point in the gems colors that are to neon and saturated for my eyes.

XOXO Droplets (XOD) is a fun visual novel with unique personality. What a game! I haven’t even finished my first playthrough yet, but I had to come and leave a review! I have to say, without a doubt, every boyfriend is equally as terrible as the others. And I love them all for it.

No but seriously, the characters in this game are great! Perfectly hateable and perfectly loveable. XD I especially enjoyed getting to see them grow to tolerate and even slightly like each other! (Although, none of them would ever tell you that. )

It also has a very unique style of gameplay, leaving no room for a lull in the mood or a dull moment, something I usually find to be a problem in dating sims I’ve played!

Combine this with eye-catching, smooth design and visuals, a witty, well-written and clever script, and phenomenal voice actors and actresses, I can say with full certainty, this is one of the best dating sims I’ve ever played! My favourite characters were Jeremy, and Pran, their silent friendship was adorable. I really hope to see more from this studio in the future!
