Review Game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition Full Version: First impresssions when loading this game in a completely vanilla state were slightly underwhelming, but after playing several hours I’ve noticed small things that really make a difference for me.

During my first rainstorm I noticed that rain no longer falls through canopies. One of the things that really bugged me in classic Skyrim, and had to be fixed by modders. The HDR FX make the skies look beautiful, and clear sky scenes in Whiterun feel like Summer. The volumetric lighting works great, and it isn’t ruined by the old stripy shadows that would flicker off of objects.

The depth-of-field effect is seamless and non-intrusive like some of the harsh visual FX used by ENBseries The increased flora count really makes a difference to the tundra regions, and inner city areas such as Whiterun.

Savefile management is much cleaner now as you have the option to view your saves subdivided by the characters name, and modded games are marked . If you’re searching for a reason to load up Skyrim again, atleast give the Special Edition a try if you received it for free in your library.
