Hero Defense – Haunted Island Full Version, is a good strategy game with RPG elements. Hero Defense Haunted Island Free Download is a Tower Defense game where Towers are replaced by 5 different Heroes. It contains a lot of RPG elements such as, levelling Heroes, Skill/Talent Management, Gear management and mid-game decisions. It plays a little like a Warcraft 3 mode with a bit of extra polish, story mode and more persistent elements.

The game does have its flaws though. It’s very grindy as of the Early Access version; huge amounts of gold are needed and replaying of levels becomes mandatory if you want to keep up to date. A counters B which counters C style of balancing, it’s not just certain Heroes cleave or certain Heroes single target, just some people will deal little to no damage to certain mob types, think of Pokemon and trying to use Electricity on a Ground type. Lastly there are some pacing issues, it starts very slow and with all my time invested I still haven’t unlocked the last hero, which causes a dissatisfying experience at times when you don’t feel like you’re getting stronger.

Overall I enjoyed the game quite a bit, the issues I listed above can be addressed during Early Access. Leveling up your Heroes, getting stronger after each battle, having a decent variety of control and Hero types is a good start and shows promise for other game features.
