Review Game My Life as a Maiden Free Download : I play a lot of visual novels, perhaps not on steam, but I have played a lot, and most are usually just the same tropes that can’t pass for more than mediocre games, but not this one, this was fantastic, one of my favourites already. The art style is gorgeous, each character is well written & unique, the story is brilliantly written & deep, and I absolutely love the main character, which is extremely rare. Maria speaks to me on a personal level, he’s a character well written in this subject, something I never though a game would be able to deliver, I love Maria so much, and I thank you for that. I mean, I already have plans to cosplay Maria, that’s how perfect he was.

I don’t know why but I prefer the Harley ending the most. I feel like I should like Erika’s the most, perhaps Audrey’s because of the reconscile, maybe Sylvia’s because of her family backstory, or even Dawn because she’s true to herself, but I just love Harley’s ending and I think it’s only because she keeps her cuddle buddy.

I also love Audrey’s father, “I approve”, the man is into traps, and is a good father. Audrey’s dad is up there for best girl. Review game Ascendant Hearts Free Download : Game Ascendant Hearts Full Version is a decent if short “transported to another world” / isekai visual novel.

The characters are all very likable and you’re given a fair amount of choice throughout the game. The choices you make do make impact throughout the game which is very nice. For example, you can’t just snub off everyone then confess to them expecting them to suddenly fall for you in return. Great change of pace.

The game is arounnd ~4 hours if you go for all the achievements. I got this when it was discounted for $8 which is a good pricing for a Visual Novel with decent branching to this extent. No ground breaking story break offs but still nice.

The art is pleasing to the eye and though the cg count isn’t too high, what’s there is nice. The only real low points are the climax and the ending. After humorously poking at cliches for a majority of the story, it quickly ends on a big cliche that just doesn’t feel satisfying. On that point however, the story throughout and character dialogue was extremely enjoyable. Though its impact will mainly be for those that are at least aware of standard RPG tropes.

Review Game The Disappearing of Gensokyo All DLC Free Download : PC game The Disappearing of Gensokyo is a Touhou fangame with a much higher production value than those you see on average. It’s visually impressive for something self-published and comparable in quality to titles like Adventures of Scarlet Curiosity and Gensou Skydrift. Yet it surprised me even more on the audio side: There are some amazing vocal tracks by renowned Yuuhei Satellite in it!

As for the gameplay: It’s a gripping and lethal twin stick shooter with small RPG elements, nothing complex or grindy. I may not agree with all design decisions: Your dodge roll / dash is not as useful as it should be and frequent hitstun and the lack of any invincibility frames can feel a little cheap. Still, it’s polished enough that you will care about the gameplay and most of all, it’s exciting in how challenging it can become and ultimately rewarding when you succeed.
One warning: It’ll say something about hard being the recommended difficulty. Don’t listen to that! 🙂

Get your first taste of the game in normal mode. You would not believe how tough the encounters get later with how casual the first few levels are. I died at least a dozen times to the stage 12 boss. If you still have your sanity after the final battle, feel free to ramp it up.
I also want to say that I liked the story and the ending(s). The English translation is a little wonky and the writing style isn’t the greatest as well, but it had a lot of heart. You can tell the developers love the fandom. It’s even just laudable that you can set it to English. An included translation is not the norm among the doujin scene.

Overall, The Disappearing of Gensokyo Full Game exceeded my expectations. I’d heard that it was one of the more relevant fangames to come out recently, but I doubted it’d be my kind of game. What footage I had seen of it didn’t make me as confident as I wanted to be about it. Get it and help everyone’s favourite anti-hero Tenshi save Gensokyo from disappearing!
