Momodora games are always good, and if you enjoyed Reverie Under the Moonlight, you would enjoy this one. This game is like Reverie Under the Moonlight (RUtM) but with better movement and visuals.

However, this high similarity to RUtM is also this game’s worst aspect. See, RUtM was something otherworldly when it launched in 2016. However, 8 years have passed and the Metroidvania genre’s quality bar has been pushed way higher in this time, and a game so similar to what was considered the best in 2016 is no longer the best in 2024.

You want to play Moonlit Farewell? Go ahead, it’s a good game and I enjoyed it. But if you have other Metroidvanias in your Wishlist, you may want to consider buying them first to get the best experiences, this game won’t make you feel as RUtM did 8 years ago.
